Ideal Applications

The Netafim Series 80 1-inch electric valve is an excellent solution for commercial greenhouses, indoor cultivation facilities, nurseries, farms, hydroponic growing operations, landscape irrigation systems and controlled-environment agriculture (CEA).

It can be incorporated into automated irrigation manifolds to control individual grow zones, benches, rooms or irrigation blocks. Its combination of a broad flow range and 24VAC automation makes it particularly useful for growers running irrigation controllers, fertigation equipment and multi-zone watering systems.

For greenhouse and hydroponic operations, the corrosion-resistant construction also makes the Series 80 a strong choice where fertilizers and nutrient solutions are routinely introduced into irrigation water.

Professional Irrigation Control for Growers Across the United States

Whether you're designing a commercial greenhouse irrigation system in Colorado, upgrading a hydroponic facility in California, installing fertigation equipment in Arizona, or managing nursery and agricultural irrigation anywhere in the United States, the Netafim 1-Inch Series 80 24VAC Electric Globe Valve provides reliable automated water control.

Seres Ag supplies professional irrigation and hydroponic equipment for commercial growers, greenhouses, nurseries, indoor cultivation facilities and agricultural operations throughout Denver, Colorado and nationwide.

Why Choose Netafim Series 80?

Netafim's Series 80 valves are engineered around reliability, hydraulic efficiency and reduced maintenance. The valve's fully supported diaphragm provides tight sealing, while its low-current solenoid helps support longer wire runs between irrigation controllers and valves.

The Series 80 is particularly valuable in professional growing environments where dependable irrigation isn't optional. Automated irrigation systems need valves that consistently open and close when commanded while maintaining accurate control over each irrigation zone.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the flow rate of the Netafim 1-Inch Series 80 valve?

The recommended flow range for the 1-inch Series 80 valve is 0.01 to 44 GPM, allowing it to serve a wide range of irrigation-zone sizes.

What voltage does this Netafim valve use?

This model uses a 24VAC solenoid with ±10% allowable voltage variation. Always verify compatibility with your irrigation controller before installation.

Is the Netafim Series 80 valve normally open or normally closed?

The standard 2-way electric Series 80 configuration is normally closed, meaning the valve stays closed until the solenoid is activated by the irrigation controller.

Can this valve be used for hydroponics?

Yes. Netafim specifically identifies the Series 80 2-way valve for greenhouse and nursery irrigation, including hydroponic and mist systems. It is well suited for automated irrigation and fertigation installations.

Can it be used with fertilizer or nutrient solutions?

The Series 80 uses durable, corrosion-resistant materials and is designed for irrigation applications involving mildly corrosive water and fertilizer-containing irrigation water. Compatibility should still be verified for unusually concentrated or aggressive chemical solutions.

What pressure can the 1-inch Series 80 handle?

The valve has a minimum operating pressure of 7 PSI and maximum operating pressure of 150 PSI.

Does the valve have adjustable flow control?

Yes. Flow control is standard on the Series 80, allowing the valve to be manually adjusted from fully closed up to its maximum flow capacity.

What is the maximum water temperature?

The Series 80 is rated for irrigation water temperatures of up to 140°F.

Can this valve be controlled automatically?

Yes. The 24VAC solenoid is designed for connection to compatible irrigation controllers and automated watering systems, making it suitable for scheduled irrigation zones and master-valve applications.

Is this a good valve for commercial greenhouse irrigation?

Yes. Its 0.01–44 GPM flow range, 24VAC automation, high-pressure capability and corrosion-resistant construction make it particularly well suited for commercial greenhouse, nursery, hydroponic and controlled-environment agriculture applications.

Netafim™ Series 80 Nylon Control Valves are reliable and durable control and master valves designed for easy operation and low maintenance costs. The new and improved manual selector allows for hassle-free internal bleed without the need to adjust the solenoid position. Its innovative labyrinth inlet eliminates the requirement for internal filters, further reducing service costs for end users, contractors, and distributors. Flow control is standard on all models, enabling manual zone control from fully closed to maximum capacity at no extra charge. The high efficiency solenoid has inrush and holding currents that are 50-60% lower than the industry average, allowing for the longest wire runs from valve to controller while exhibiting low sensitivity to dirt and voltage fluctuations. With over a decade of field-proven reliability under harsh water conditions, these valves are made from durable, corrosion-resistant materials. They are compatible with all major 2-wire control systems, making them ideal for residential and commercial landscape irrigation applications, as well as for reclaimed water use, including municipally treated water designated for irrigation.
